I didn't even breathe in just now, but I somehow got the feeling that there was the smell of pastries in the air. I didn't smell it, obviously, but for some reason, my body just went, "...pastries!"

That's so weird. It's been happening a lot recently.

Y'know, I never really believed that stuff about smell being the strongest sense tied to memory thing, but the other week, something happened that made me reconsider.

I was rushing to my physics class because I was on the verge of being late, when I suddenly passed this girl on the way to my hallway and just...froze. I stopped right in place because of the smell. It was some sort of perfume mixed with a different aroma. Or maybe it was just the perfume. I don't know. Even now, I don't remember what the smell was like, but it was enough to stop me dead in my tracks because it jarred something in the back of my mind.

The thing is, I have no idea what it was. I got the feeling that I'd felt that smell somewhere before, or that I tied that smell to some sort of thought, but I had no idea what that thought or feeling was supposed to mean. At long last, I continued moving, though I was completely in a daze because of that incident. I still can't figure out what that was supposed to be, and I've forgotten what she smelled like or who she was, even, but the fact that something like that was powerful enough to stop me dead in my tracks was a little bit eerie.

Oh well. I think I need sleep.
