Sometimes I wish I still roleplayed.
It's only been a year but it feels like so much longer -
When I think about it, I'm not sure if I left because of the stuff that was going on with Jess or because I just lost interest in it. Did I stop joining communities after that because I tied it to bad memories? Because I was afraid to start roleplaying without Ang? Or because I just didn't have any motivation to keep going?
Then you have to consider GJs downfall as well. Part of what made me choose it over LJ was the notification system and icons. And now that their whole world is going to hell, I'm not sure if its worth it to join a community. I don't know how to look on Scribbld because it's so new, and I still don't want to do it on LJ.
Forums seem...intimidating? I feel like I have to keep up so much.
But maybe it's not such a bad idea.

I want to get better at writing, and RPing was what helped me improve, you know?
Here's Mari's list of favorite podcasts you should all be listening to:
http://www.winginit3d.com : Wingin' It 3D : They're geeks. They're loud. They're hilarious. I love this podcast above all others. Its genuinely funny with a very likable cast that loves to talk about beer, sci-fi, and silliness. Every week, I look forward to seeing this in my iTunes.
http://www.geologicpodcast.com : The Geologic Podcast : A great, funny, sketch-driven, one-man show all about thinking for yourself. I will admit, this is not a show for everyone. The lovely and talented George Hrab is a driven atheist and, in my opinion, a great representative of the skeptic community. The music he performs on his show is so funny and so intelligently written, and his stories are so enthusiastically told you can't help but really get into it!
http://www.sonicsociety.org/ : The Sonic Society : Whether you call it radioplay, audiodrama, pulp audio, or audioplay, The Sonic Society is really a fantastic show for that theater called "your imagination." This may seem outdated or weird because we all know that radioplays were popular in our grandparents' time, not in the modern world of HD TV and Blu-Ray. Yet The Sonic Society brings together contemporary audioplays from all over the world to show you movies in your mind. They even have a Firefly show! So check it out before you write it off as "old people stuff"
http://decoderring.libsyn.com/ : Decoder Ring Theatre : This is actually my favorite radio series. It truly brings justice to the title "pulp radio," imitating the campy style of the 1940's superhero and detective stories. The twenty-minute stories are charming and so fun to listen to because of the colorful characters, despicable villains, and squirrly-lookin' weasels.
http://www.playingforkeepsnovel.com/ : Playing For Keeps : Mur Lafferty's new PodioBook is all about a more realistic take on superheroes. Seventh City's Heroes are employed to protect its walls from the evil Supervillains that seem to constantly be attacking, but they are not the focus of the story. Instead, we follow a group of characters from the far larger population of "Third Wavers," that is, people born with powers too weak to be considered "useful" in the Heroes Academy. It's so well-written and the world is colorful and delightfully realistic, challenging the idea that all Heroes are good people.
(wow, each summary has gotten longer since I've started!)
http://signal.serenityfirefly.com/ : The Signal : Ah yes...last but definitely not least...The Signal. Ever since Firefly was cancelled, and Serenity was in the works, The Signal has been here, giving us updates and keeping the Browncoat community united in our one goal: More Serenity Now! If you haven't seen Firefly, what are you waiting for? I guarantee that you'll find something to love about this show, and then check out the Signal for the lastest in Firefly news, recipies, fan music (that's actually good), roleplaying game tips, and so, so much more.
So please! Check these out! I promise they're all good, or else I wouldn't recommend them
